Community for Writers and Poets in Perth
Hiya! We’re Perth Scribblers – a fun, Perth-based community of writers who hold regular events to hone our skills, share our work, and connect with other writers and poets.
Our events are both online and in-person, and we aim to collaborate with other writing societies in Perth to add value to our members.
Take a gander around the site, read the FAQ, check our upcoming events, and we hope to see you soon!
Online Writeoffs
Write-offs are online competitive writing competitions where writers can practice their craft, share their works, and receive honest and useful feedback.
Flash-fiction and poetry events are run every three weeks, and short stories every two-months, so there’s always a chance to be writing!
Web Catch-ups
We hold fortnightly catch-ups in an online environment to share ideas, flesh out issues, discuss progress, and have a good yarn.
Catch-ups are text and audio based, which provides an open and stress-free environment for existing and new members.
Meet & Review
Meet and Review is an in-person event run on a monthly basis. We catch-up in Perth, share works and get some writing done, and then grab a bite to eat afterwards.
It’s a great way to be productive and keep in touch with your writing network.
Write Nights
Write Night runs on a monthly basis at the State Library. We work quietly for two forty-five minute intervals, with a fifteen minute break in the middle to relax and stretch legs. Afterwards, we grab a bite to eat and chat.
It’s a great way to be productive while keeping in touch with other writers.
